We love cool, interesting and unusual weddings. What does that mean to us exactly, you’re probably wondering? A costume or masquerade ball reception, an unbelievable unique venue, even just a really different theme for a wedding that’s way outside the box. Well it looks like the year is well and truly underway, with the last few weeks letting me ease into a pretty packed and busy wedding season that kicks off this coming weekend.

If you’ve never had a chance to visit the Oaks Pioneer Church over in Sellwood you’re missing out on a really cool little spot. Not only is it listed in the National Register of Historic Places but it’s a wonderful venue for an intimate ceremony!

Elizabeth and Wade put together a great wedding day, starting with photos and a small ceremony and ending with a rockin’ party at The Woods. PdxPhotoLounge.com was on hand to bring the funny and get some great shots of all the guests.

We recently got some very cool news – we received the Bride’s Choice Award for 2010 from weddingwire.com and 2009 Best Oregon Photographer from onewed.com. These awards were based on feedback and reviews from brides and grooms, which is a really great feeling. I think a HUGE thank you to all our couples is in order! Here’s to an even better year in 2010!
